Children's Christmas Celebration

The generosity of Jesus in his coming to earth to save us deserves a super celebration! We host a children’s Christmas party with fun, candy, crafts and carols… and of course, new toys for children! We know that winter is hard for many families in need, and parents want to make the day special and many worry about how they will afford those gifts for their children. Hundreds of amazing donors and volunteers donate thousands of new toys in person, send them through Amazon, and wrap them, making an incredible celebration possible.

The Happy Day Kids Valentines Party celebrates this special day with crafts, a special luncheon, and dessert!
Spring Into Easter! Celebration
Our celebration will be April 12, 2025
Registration begins April 18th at HHRM for Huntington Township Residents.
Please bring birth certificates for children 13 years and younger and proof of your address. Thank you! 11am-1pm daily/Saturday 10-1pm.
HHRM's "Spring into Easter Celebration" is a fun family event that allows parents to celebrate with their children and have a special fun time at no charge. Helping Hand Rescue Mission will provide over 1500 Easter baskets to local children who might not have one otherwise. We are so grateful to celebrate together. You can help by making and donating ready to distribute Easter baskets filled with treats and small toys as the event nears. This is a great family, office, club, or group activity!
Set for Summer! Family Fun Day and Summer Clothing Distribution

With school out and the sun shining, the constantly-growing kids of our community need well-fitting clothes to play in! Plans for this event will be limited due to Community Kitchen construction, but we will adapt!
The Best First Day Back-To-School Backpack Distribution

Back to school is a time full of eagerness and excitement for students. We believe that no child should be held back from their education or feel out of place in the classroom because their family can’t afford the necessary school supplies everyone else has. It's amazing what a new backpack, supplies, and hygiene items can do--all the sudden students are stepping forward with confidence. We partner with Huntington Assembly of God, Khalsa Aid, Family Service League, the Town of Huntington, the Junior Welfare League, and many, many more wonderful supporting organizations for this event. In 2024, we served over 1500+ local students directly, and were able to provide 550+ backpacks to partner organizations for their students in need.
Fall Food Drives
We provide pantry essentials for 250 families every single week at Helping Hand Rescue Mission through the fall and winter months.
With inflation and the rising costs of food, many hardworking families in our community are struggling to afford groceries and other essentials. Items in our pantry have become increasingly difficult to stock. Are you, your company, your organization, or your group of friends able to partner with us to help us meet this need? All pantry items donated to Helping Hand Rescue Mission are packed in pantry bags by our wonderful volunteers and distributed directly to local families in need Tues-Fri every week.

Operation Sweet Tooth
Donate at Helping Hand Rescue Mission after Halloween!
If you have left-over unopened, store-bought candy from Halloween, Helping Hand Rescue Mission would love to have it for our Operation Sweet Tooth Drive in October and November! These sweet treats make our holiday distributions extra special for families in need! Candy is re-packaged into holiday treat bags and used for pantry distribution. Delicious!

Can YOU host a coat drive next year?
Starting October 15th, we will be in need of beautiful new and gently used coats and jackets for our community. All sizes from newborn to adult are needed as long as the coats are clean and have no rips, stains, or tears. We believe that everyone deserves to have a coat or jacket that is clean and nice to keep them toasty. These coats will be distributed 4 days a week, every week, to families in need as the weather gets colder.

Thanksgiving Food Distribution-Fill A Box Feed A Family 2025
The big, special family meal with that big, wonderful bird shouldn’t be a cause for extra financial strain for families in need. Helping Hand Rescue Mission provides Thanksgiving food boxes and turkeys or gift cards for families in our community so they can cook up their special meal and have it together. We provide those boxes by having people like you sign empty boxes out, fill them with the suggested Thanksgiving meal list items and return them to us for distribution. In 2023, we served over a thousand families with Thanksgiving food boxes and frozen turkeys that were donated and funded by wonderful families, businesses, churches, temples, organizations, and nice people in our area.
We believe an enormous part of gratitude is giving back, and we’re so thankful to be able to provide with our community, for our community! Don't just count your blessings, share them!
