How can I donate?
First of all, THANK YOU! Your donation, no matter how big or small, makes so much possible for those in need in our community, and we are GRATEFUL!
Check out our instructions below to donate in-person, online, and through popular platforms such as paypal, venmo, and Amazon. You can also find guidelines for donating food, in-season clothing, and gently-used household items. However you want to give, you are MAKING A DIFFERENCE right here in our local community.
Donation Hours and Accepted Items
Tuesday-Friday: 10-11am & 1-4pm
Saturday 10am-1pm
We are currently accepting:
- Unexpired non-perishables and fresh produce
- Household items, Christmas, holiday decor
- Diapers, baby wipes, cleaning supplies and new hygiene items.
- Financial donations to keep our mission running!
- We are accepting new and gently used winter clothing and coats at this time. Shoes, boots, etc. are all welcome at this time as well.
- New gift items, purses, jewelry & new perfume or cosmetics for Moms-we have around 200 moms that we will be sharing with for Mother's Day month and we're getting an early start collecting them:)
- Special Donations - new and gently used handbags, new cosmetic & hygiene items and perfumes, new and gently used costume jewelry, unused gift items for special giving.
We currently cannot accept:
- Full house clean outs of any type
- Black garbage bags full of clothing or item because they are very difficult for us to sort and process.
- Out of season clothing-we accept clothing during the current season because we do not have room to store out of season.
- Furniture-(contact us for our Furniture Placement Program 631-351-6996)
- No books except NEW children's books and not entire libraries please. Specifically no text books, novels or encyclopias
- ANY items outside of our donation hours or when we are closed. This helps us to keep everything organized and keeps our parking lot safe during our distributions and closed hours.
Pantry & Family Meal Fund
The Pantry and Family Meal Fund was created to fight food insecurity during COVID-19 and beyond. $45 can purchase a pantry bag for a family. This fund also helps us to restock our pantry, to buy specific supplies for families in need (such as a baby formula specific to a child’s needs) and provides other essentials that may not be available in our Food Pantry.

- Drop off a check made out to Helping Hand Rescue Mission at our location, 225 Broadway in Huntington Station, NY 11746 during our donation hours (Tues-Fri 10-AM and 1-4PM and Saturdays 9AM-1PM)

Become a Monthly Mission Partner!
Join us in committing to our community! Monthly Mission Partners (MMP's) are the backbone of the Mission’s financial support, and we couldn’t do our work without them. Knowing that we have stable, predictable incoming donations allows us to keep our doors open, stay focused on the community, and make plans for the future. MMP’s keep our lights and heat on, our building insurance paid, and our staff in the building--the long and short of it is you keep us here so that there will always be a place for people in need to go, and we are so grateful.

Every 20th of the month, we have a donation campaign day for $20 donations called Ten On The 10th. $20 might not seem like much, but here at the Mission, a little goes a LONG way! $20 can provide some groceries or non-perishables. $20 can help to provide a week’s supply of baby wipes and diapers for a child in need, hygiene products for families (toilet paper, soap, shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, lotion, toothbrush/toothpaste) all items not available for purchase with a "benefits" card. It also helps us cover the costs of being open, keeps the fridges and freezers running so we can have fresh food for our clients, helps provide heat and A/C so volunteers can go about their work, and all those invisible costs, like insurance and having the gutters cleaned and the parking lot plowed in the winter, that keep our building functional for everyone in need.
Matching Gifts
WHAT ARE MATCHING GIFTS? Matching gifts are a type of corporate philanthropy in which companies financially match donations that their employees make to nonprofit organizations. When an employee makes a donation, they’ll request the matching gift from their employer, who then makes their own donation. Companies usually match donations at a 1:1 ratio, but some will match at a 2:1, 3:1, or even a 4:1 ratio. Check with your company to see if they will match your donation. It's an additional gift to HHRM! What a blessing!
Gifts in Memoriam or Tribute
Honor the memory of a loved one or pay tribute to someone who’s touched your life with a gift to the Helping Hand Rescue Mission. All memorial and tribute gifts will be acknowledged with a receipt and also with a letter to the family of the loved one or to the person or family being honored. All gifts are tax-deductible. Thank you for remembering someone special by giving to Helping Hand Rescue Mission. Your gift is greatly needed and appreciated. (follow the prompt when making donation) or call our office to set up a special donation page with a private link that can be shared with family and friends.
